Webinars provide a space to share experiences, ideas, strategies, and questions about online writing centers (OWCs). We invite speakers to discuss important OWC topics and dedicate at least half the time for discussion.
ASL Interpretation and Recording
We work with Morr Interpreting to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters in each webinar. Webinars are recorded, given edited closed captions, and shared in our Event Archive 1-2 weeks after the event date.
Guidelines for Participating
Webinars are currently held in a Zoom Pro room. You are welcome to contribute through chat, audio, and/or sign language. To ensure our interpreters are visible and can translate effectively, please review the following guidelines before participating:
- Keep your audio and video turned off when you are not speaking or signing, to reduce auditory and visual distractions
- Click the “raise hand” icon if you’d like to participate via audio or sign language and wait for the host to indicate your turn. Once prompted, you can turn on your audio or video and begin by giving your name (“This is Jenelle”). Once your turn has ended, please turn off your video and audio.
The Virtual Events Committee will take over scheduling and facilitating webinars in January 2021. If you’d like to join this committee, please see our Committees page.
You can find recordings and materials for past webinars in our Event Archive. Here are the most recent webinars:
