Engaging Writers Online: A Tutor-Centered Conversation

The Rocky Mountain Writing Centers Association (RMWCA) and Online Writing Centers Association (OWCA) are excited to announce a co-sponsored event titled “Engaging Writers Online: A Tutor-Centered Conversation” on Tuesday, April 12 at 3 pm EST/1 pm MST.

Reading Club: Rhetoric of Labor Activism in Writing Centers

Reading club provides a space to discuss writing center scholarship. Based on the article or chapter chosen, participants will share experiences, ideas, strategies, and questions about online writing centers (OWCs). This Reading Club will discuss "Toward a Rhetoric of Labor Activism in College and University Writing Centers" by Liliana M. Naydan in Praxis: A Writing Center Journal.

Registration for the OWCA Membership Group Cohort 2 of 2022 is now open until June 10! Cohort 2 will run from July—December 2022 with a kick-off meeting in early July.

Webinar: What’s Your Story? with Rikki Corniola (2022)

This webinar will engage the audience in a discussion of the story they want to tell administrators about their writing center, and how to work backwards to identify necessary data collection to help them tell that story effectively. We will encourage participants to consider the data they already collect for their writing center, what they need to collect to tell their story, how to set clear goals/outcomes for the writing center and how to align those with institutional goals and outcomes.
