Abstract:

This workshop will build upon an asynchronous feedback training module, providing a brief overview of current research on responding to multimodal compositions and assessment frameworks that can be modified for use in writing centers. The presenter will share materials created for coaches to use while coaching asynchronously, including a quick-reference infographic guide and a response matrix. Participants will have the opportunity to draft, discuss, and revise written responses to sample texts, and the presenter will facilitate a discussion centered on best practices, anticipated and experienced challenges, and questions about asynchronous feedback for multimodal and designed documents.
